RESORT OVERVIEW

Nestled between Islamorada's sun-kissed beachside and tranquil bayside, Islander Resort invites guests to embrace a new way of life guided by the rhythms of nature. The resort spans 24 lush acres and features 114 newly redesigned bungalows and suites, each offering seamless indoor-outdoor living that reflects the laid-back charm of the Florida Keys. With a spectacularly reimagined private beachfront, two distinctive pool areas, immersive experiences, and coastal-inspired dining, Islander Resort embodies relaxed luxury and an effortless connection to nature.

ISLANDER HISTORY

In the early 1900s, the site now home to Islander Resort was an exclusive fishing camp for the wealthy, including the Rockefellers, accessible via Henry Flagler's railroad. After the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane devastated the area, fisherman Leo Samuels built Islander Resort in 1951, with the Samuels family operating the resort for nearly five decades. In 1999, Arkansas businessman David Curry revitalized the property, blending vintage charm with modern amenities and a focus on sustainability.

Guests can learn more about the resort's history at The Keys History & Discovery Center, a 7,500-square-foot museum and learning center located at the north end of the property.

ISLAMORADA - THE SPORT FISHING CAPITAL OF THE WORLD

Spanning just 20 miles between Everglades National Park and the Florida Strait, Islamorada is laid-back village of islands long celebrated for backcountry sport fishing and saltwater fly fishing. It remains one of the world's highest densities of professional offshore and backcountry charter boats. Visitors enjoy boutiques and art galleries, tropical nature trails and treasures from Florida's past.
