Islander Resort is proud to partner with the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida in their mission to protect the outstanding animals and plants in our local ecosystem, and their management of the world’s largest coral rescue center.
Coral reefs are central to the health and diversity of our oceans. They regulate carbon dioxide levels in the water and prevent shoreline erosion. Florida’s Coral Reef, the largest in the continental U.S., is not only environmentally important, it’s also economically vital. It provides 70,000 jobs and generates $6.4 billion each year. Rescuing and restoring the reef is crucial for fish and Floridians alike.
In addition to our existing sustainability practices, we have launched several exciting activitations on property to support the Fish and Wildlife Foundation as they work to conserve our natural and outdoor heritage. Learn more about this activations below:
Reef Relief Cocktail: Join us at Tides Beachside Bar & Grill for our specialty Reef Relief cocktail. Served in a large fish bowl, this cocktail is made of Papa's Pilar Rum, blue craco, lychee puree, and pineapple juice. $2 from each cocktail sold will be donated directly to the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida.
Reef Relief Turtle: Guests will find a cheery plush turtle mascot at the reception gift shop. This lovable toy is accompanied by an informational card sharing more about our environmental mission. Costing just $20 - 50% of all sales will be donated directly to the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida.
